National News: The US on Monday said it was “firmly” watching the occasions in Jammu and Kashmir following the renouncement of arrangements of Article 370 of the Constitution by the Indian government and asked all partners to keep up harmony and steadiness along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Narendra Modi government disavowed arrangements of Article 370, which gave extraordinary status to Jammu and Kashmir. Rajya Sabha affirmed the goals repealing Article 370 for J&K and a Bill to bifurcate the State into two association domains, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, with Home Minister Amit Shah saying the dubious arrangements were in charge of destitution and absence of advancement in the state.

Without naming Pakistan, State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus told PTI, “We approach all gatherings to keep up harmony and security along the Line of Control.”

Pakistan has censured and dismissed the Indian government’s turn and pledged to work out “every conceivable alternative” to counter, which is called, India’s “illicit” and “one-sided” step.

“We are firmly following the occasions in Jammu and Kashmir. We observe India’s declaration overhauling the sacred status of Jammu and Kashmir and India’s arrangement to part the state into two association regions,” Ms. Ortagus said when requested to remark on India’s choice to renounce J&K’s unique status.

Prior in the day, Ministry of External Affairs advised the agents of the P5 countries — the US, the UK, China, France, and Russia — about Indian government’s choice to scrap Article 370 and bifurcate the state into two association domains.

Ms. Ortagus noticed that India has depicted the activities in J&K as “carefully an inner issue”. She, notwithstanding, communicated worry about announced human rights infringement in J&K.

“We are worried about reports of detainments (in J&K) and urge regard for individual rights and dialog with the influenced networks,” Ms. Ortagus said.
